5 Ways to Reboot When You’re Feeling Stuck in Life

Operation Traffic

Are you in a rut? Do you feel like you keep doing the same things and making the same mistakes?

With so many things going on in our lives it’s easy to keep going through the motions and not make any progress. Everyone feels stuck once in a while, but these feelings can become a problem if they start interfering with your everyday life.

Whether you have a specific goal you are working towards, like not yelling at your kids so much, or you just want to open yourself up to happiness and new opportunities, here are a few things you can try to reboot and get unstuck.

Use Affirmations

Affirmations are a way we can consciously control our thoughts, and they help us to believe in the potential of something. There are many fun ways you can use affirmations. You can write them on sticky notes and post them around your house, write them in lipstick on your mirror, repeat them in your mind, or write them in a journal.

Examples of affirmations to help you get unstuck include:

I am open to new ideas.

I live my life to the fullest.

I am worthy of happiness.

I enjoy a prosperous life.

Meditate

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I was reluctant to try meditation but it made a huge difference in my life. Meditation is less about sitting cross-legged on the floor chanting ohms and more about being mindful and taking the time to sit quietly and notice our surroundings.

Simple ways to meditate include staring at a candle, closing your eyes and noticing your breath flow in and out of your body, and even doodling in a notebook.

Journal

Keeping a journal is a great way to get all the gunk out of your head. If you’re not sure how to start writing, try describing your surroundings or write about what you’d like your day to be like. Eventually the more you journal, the more you’ll notice things coming to the surface.

When you journal, you are able to get negative thoughts out of your head to make room for new, more positive thoughts.

Go For a Walk

Walking is a great way to reboot. Not only are all the physical benefits of walking great for your body, but walking can do wonders for your mind. Many forms of exercise, including walking, release mood-enhancing endorphins in your brain which have been known to improve mood. Fresh air is also a great way to clear your mind.

Try Yoga

The physical benefits of yoga are well-known, but yoga was actually developed to create harmony between the heart and soul. You don’t need to be flexible or fit to enjoy the benefits of yoga. There are many poses that are easy to do regardless of your fitness level.

I love yoga for the effect it has on the Chakras, energy centres within the body. For a simple way to get started with yoga, check out my Chakra Yoga e-book.
